Jan DEXA Scan Results - More Details
In my last post, I shared Jan’s DEXA Bone Density Scan results summary. Now I am going to share the details.
If you recall, Jan is a 74 year old woman diagnosed with osteoporosis who, on the advice of her physician, took bone density prescription drugs.
The side effects were horrible. Jan said:
“I had joint pain everywhere, constant nausea, and diarrhea”
Is it just me or do you wonder how doctors live with themselves when they write these prescriptions?
The medication is a magic trick; an illusion. It simply keeps old cells hanging around to make it look like the bones are more dense. They certainly aren’t stronger, that’s for sure, so what are you gaining from it?
Absolutely nothing, except maybe a false sense of security.
So, in August of 2022, Jan found STRONG WOMEN ROCK and we got to work using the viiivPRO to put some positive stress on her bones and get her condition reversed.
Once a week for one year she pushed and pulled in 4 different ways, giving her best effort for 5 seconds.
Then she had to quit for 4 months.
But on January 4, 2024, it was back to work until she had her next DEXA exam in May.
Results?
From the summary:
“T-score significantly improved from -2.2 with HIGH fracture risk to -1.6 with LOW fracture risk now without pharmacological treatment.”
Read that again.
It’s a 37% change in her TOTAL HIP T-score, but let’s be more specific.
The BONE MINERAL DENSITY of the neck of her femur increased 9.5%, moving her T-score to a mark higher than it was 12 years ago.
Talk about turning back the clock!
The difference?
viiivPRO
Gets better though.
Let’s look at her spine:
In 2022, her TOTAL LUMBAR SPINE T-score was -2.1
In 2024 it is -1.5; a 40% improvement.
But when you break it down and look at the individual vertebrae, there are some interesting changes:
Vertabra | T-Score Change | % Change |
---|---|---|
L1 | T-score went from -2.0 to -0.6 | 233% increase |
L2 | T-score went from -2.0 to -1.3 | 54% increase |
L3 | T-score went from -2.4 to -1.8 | 33% increase |
L4 | T-score went from -2.1 to -2.2 | 4.5% decrease*** |
*** This is an area where osteoarthritis has caused Jan some discomfort and I suspect that due to a lack of mobility in this area it may be challenging to ever increase the density here. Most likely the best we can hope for is to keep the deterioration as slow as possible. The good news is she is still creating a protective effective throughout her entire body by getting stronger.
Nevertheless, her T-score for the LUMBAR SPINE today is 27% higher than it was 12 years ago.
The difference?
viiivPRO
Needless to say, Jan is thrilled.
The viiivPRO will deliver for you too. What are you waiting for?
