ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE
I was recently contacted by someone interested in the viiivPRO and he had some specific questions for me. I'm sure there are many of you out there who have the same questions so I want to share with you our exchange, plus some additional thoughts.
Q: Besides a viiivPRO, occasional sprinting, and walking... any other additional fitness recommendations?
A: No other recommendations. Live your life and do things you enjoy. Simplicity and joy is best. I never waste one second of one brain cell's energy on thinking I need more activity to be healthier and more fit.
The fitness industry needs you to think you need more so you will keep spending money jumping from one trend to the next.
It's a scam! You will waste your life energy wearing down your body and aging faster. Is that what you want?
I would say I'm an inactive active person; I play pickleball competitively a few times a week, sprint once or twice a week, go paddle boarding, backpack into remote mountain areas to fly fish once in a while, and hop on the viiivPRO once every 3-4 months to keep my central nervous system "in shape."
There is very little habit or structure to what I do. I just listen to my body and go with the flow of life. No grind. Just freedom and peace.
Q: I am still using the standard "High intensity/Nautilus/Arthur Jones principles." How would you sell the viiivPRO exclusively to a clientele that is programmed to believe a 20-30 minute program is needed and if not they aren't getting their money's worth?
A: If you believe in what you are doing; that it's best for you and your clients, they will feel it and follow you wherever you want to go. THAT is how you sell it. There is no sales formula better than passion and confidence. I can assure you your clients will get a hell of a lot more from less. All that HIT/Jones stuff is dying. viiivFitness is the new Nautilus.
Q: People want to build muscle and get stronger. If they don't see it in the mirror there is a resistance to believing. I understand strength doesn't necessarily equate to bigger muscles, but what would you say to these people concerning this topic?
A: I have written extensively on this subject. "Muscle building" is an illusion. It's not real.
Strength increases are PROVEN on the viiivPRO.
You have to be the one to teach them that what they see in the mirror is a direct result of their lifestyle choices that don't involve exercise.
Getting leaner will make the reflection in the mirror better.
Q: I have read your FANTASTIC book, any additional words of wisdom concerning eating and living right?
A: The food thing is pretty simple. You have to eat right, period! No crap! Not too much. Fasting is beneficial.
What you put in your body is what makes or breaks better aesthetics. Better nutrition saves life energy. Exercise consumes it. Do the math. Which one will make you look better?
Q: Core: Do you recommend any rotational movements or is that even necessary?
A: "Core" is BS. Marketing lies. I don't like what the term has come to mean, but we're stuck with the beliefs people have about it.
The Core Pull on the viiivPRO is the best core/trunk strengthening exercise you can do because the high load created with maximum effort activates the tract of nerves that drives changes in strength.
The highest density of projections from that tract of nerves is in the, you guessed it, CORE! You'll get your different directional movements from your normal movement.
Q: Business model: If I were to make a switch to a viiivPRO machine vs. standard selectorized machines, how would you market, plan your schedule, and charge for the service?
A: I'm not in the business of business consulting unless I'm getting paid for it but I would do exactly what I do.
You have the machine in the center of the room. You have clients give the best effort they are comfortable giving for 5 seconds on the chest press, leg press, core pull, and vertical lift once a week.
Schedule people every 15 minutes. Charge $125/month or more until they decide to stop. It's really that simple.
Change is difficult, however growth can only come from discomfort.
Trust me, I know the struggle you are going through deciding to make a switch because I made it 20 years ago when no one would even entertain the thought that isometrics is far better than anything else.
I sold all my machines, started blazing a new path, and have not one single regret. It was the best thing I ever did.
All I can say is that if you want to do it, you go all in and never look back.
Yes, you will have a lot to learn and it will take time to be able to communicate the message clearly and confidently, but both you and your clients will be better off as you learn together, plus you will be unique and stand out.
If I were to speak to your client group I can guarantee they would be excited about the switch. If anyone ever wants to take a shortcut my speakers fee is $2,000.
Hopefully this Q/A helped some of you.
